Q. After ordering, when can I expect delivery?
A. The time taken can all depend upon our stock levels at the time. For standard products, delivery only, we will endeavour to deliver within 14 days, if you require our installation service please contact the office for approximate timing.
Q. Can I install the equipment myself?
A. All of our garden range comes with a full set of instructions for you to assemble yourself. However, it is always suggested that 2 practical adults are available.
Q. Do I need special tools to put the equipment up?
A. For maximum efficiency our installation teams use electric screw guns with socket attachments, however if these are not to hand, the alternative of a 13mm and 17mm socket and wrench will do the same job, along with a screwdriver for any roof boards, etc.
Q. Does the equipment require treatment after installation?
A. All play equipment has been pressure treated and impregnated with wax to protect against the seasons, so there should be no requirement to further treat the wood. Wood ages and naturally turns grey in colour. If you wish to 'refresh' the wood Danish or Teak Oil can be used.
Play equipment should be regularly checked for splinters and sanded down when necessary.
Q. Should I be concerned about cracks appearing in the timber?
A. This should not be a worry, if cracks appear they are merely a way of the wood coping with its environment. Wood will expand and contract depending upon the amount of moisture in the air in order to maintain its structural integrity.
Q.How do I choose my swing seats?
A. You need to choose the correct number and type of swing seats to complement your chosen swing frame. A double swing point takes swings with two ropes, for example a standard wooden seat (No1). The swing frames with extensions which have a single swing point can have a single rope accessory fitted to the extension. The Push Me Pull You (PMPY) can be fitted either onto the central section or the extension.
Q.What swing seats fit on the swing frame extension?
A. The Push Me Pull You (PMPY), the Single Monkey Button (No44), the Single Vertical Tyre (No10), the Single Climbing Rope (No25) and the Hammock Seat (SHS) all fit on any of the swing frame and net frame extensions. The Push Me Pull You (PMPY) can also be fitted onto the central section of the frames.
Q.My swings are a bit squeaky, what can I do?
A. After installation you can use WD40 or grease (for example, vaseline) to ease the squeak.
Q. How much space do I need, and can the equipment be modified to fit into a specific space?
A. We would not suggest modifying any equipment outwith our instructions. Due to the modular nature of our garden range, we suggest choosing a suitable sized frame to begin with and then adding to it in the future. There are dimensions provided in pdf format beside each of our products in the garden section.
Q. Can my equipment be moved after installation?
A. The garden range does not require to be concreted into the ground due to the weight of the structure and stability of the design. Therefore and frame or fort can be easily moved around the garden, with sufficient help. Or if moving premises, the kit can be partially dismantled.
Q. Does my swing need to be secured into the ground?
A. Concrete is not required for the garden range, however, where ground is uneven or sloping, ground anchors can be used to secure the structure. These corkscrew into the grass and are bolted onto the frame, allowing them to be easily removed if required. On sloping ground, it can also be beneficial to sink legs of a structure into the earth to find a good level, this can be carried out with a garden spade.
Q. How much sand do I need for my sandpit?
A. Personal preference can be followed here, however we suggest 4 to 6 (20kg) bags. This can be obtained as play sand from a local toy store or as 'White washed' sand from your local builders merchant.
Q. Where can I see examples of your equipment?
A. A large range of our units are on display at Drumbog, Drum, Kinross, KY13 0PR - Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. It is also worth noting that we exhibit at a range of shows nationwide, most notably Badminton Horse Trials, The Scottish Garden Show Ingliston, Bramham Horse Trials, The Royal Highland Show, Scone Game Fair, The Great Yorkshire Show, Blair Castle Horse Trials.
